Anyone know why the IR functions to control external TV power, volume, etc. would stop functioning, but Tivo buttons work fine? When I press the power or volume buttons, the remote lights up (red or yellow) depending on the IR/RF mode. Currently flashes yellow.

It was working normally at one point and if the IR functions got flaky, it was time to change batteries. I've changed batteries several times thinking that was the issue. It would work again and eventually stop. This has happened on two remotes; the original Tivo Bolt remote, and a second purchased directly from Tivo (before things broke).

I tried a global reset, and re-pairing the remote with no improvement. Holding Tivo+Pwr, then entering 4 digit code, I've programmed the remote with every possible TV code and have tried multiple TVs and Tivo remotes.

I considered maybe the IR receiver was busted on the TV, but IR commands using the factory remote work fine. It's really weird. Is it just a coincidence this stopped working on two remotes? Any Ideas?

Check System Information for battery level.

Maybe just need to re-enter the I/R Code?

System info says Remote1 is 100% and Remote2 is 60% for battery level. I believe both remotes are defective with different issues. Remote1 intermittently works. When it works, it works including IR functions, but 80% of the time it's unresponsive making you believe batteries are dead. No red/yellow led light on button press.

Remote2 works fine except for IR. I've tried resetting and programming every possible code. Typically the first code worked in the past.

Will Remote 1 work on TV2 (if properly programmed)? And will Remote 2 work on TV1?

Remote 1 fails to work in general, but when it is working IR works on both TVs. I took it apart to see if I could find any obvious reason for the intermittent functionality, but I lack any electrical engineering skill. Pardon my political incorrectness, but giving it an Indian burn will make it work again.

IR on Remote 2 doesn't work on either TV, but RF works fine. Programming the remote appears to accept the codes and the Tivo light illuminates when pressing power, volume, etc.
