David Collins fights to rebuild his shattered life, when, after spending seven years in a high-security prison, his conviction for the murder of his wife is overturned. He then vows to discover the real killer.
Yeah, I know that it doesn't sound like much, but I came across this on DVD in my local public library and gave it a go, and enjoyed it for an evening (4 episodes at ~45 minutes each). In the vein and tone of DCI Banks and The Affair--if you liked those, you may like this. And in typical Brit. fashion, some gorgeous shots of the British countryside--some of the images could be framed and put on the wall.

I can't give anything but the highest praise to DCI Banks. As well as, Scott & Bailey (I think of it as a Brit. Cagney and Lacey); and Happy Valley. All superb (and the latter 2 shows especially highlighting female leads, as cops and detectives).

Yes, Happy Valley is excellent. It's been awhile for me, I might even watch it again.
