Early model Tivos came with a power cord that was keyed to only insert in one direction (one side was square shape and the other round). Later models use a non-keyed cord. That's the only difference I've found and I've owned S1, S2, S3HD, and Premiere units.Carelessness never pays off. I was swapping my tivo series 2 with my Tivo premiere. The cord of course falls to the floor and mixes in with two other power cords I had down there. Now I'm looking at 3 power cords (one random one that I have no clue what it goes to) and don't know which is for my tivo premiere. I have a refurbished tivo premiere, so I they are all the same cord.
Could someone look at their tivo premiere power cord for a match from below? It would be greatly appreciated, would love to watch some tv.
Cord 1) On the power connector it says CS E231927 125V 7A, on the wire itself it says awin SPT-2 (UL) E228636 VW-1 105c 300V in white lettering
Cord 2) On the power connector it says E321035 SP-013 10A 125V , on the wire itself HOWPOWER IULI/CIULI S326666 SPT-2 2/C 13AWG10.324MM21 300V 105c VW-1 FUND RESOURCES ELECTRIC INDUSTRY CO. LTD. SHANGHANG-LF- in black lettering
Cord 3) The male part of the connector looks longer on this one and I'm suspecting it's for my series 2. On the power connector it says E124162 J SP-013, on the wire itself it says (UL)/C(UL) E114235-J SPT-2 2/C 18AWG(0.824MM) 300V 105c VW-1 CHAU'S in black lettering.

Not really. The non-polarized cords for the later models will fit the polarized socket on the older models but you don't really want to do that.You do know it doesn't matter right?
Any one that fits the back of the unit will be fine, and all 3 could easily have come from a Tivo since they buy in bulk from many vendors.

Honestly. You have to asume the OP believed the wrong plug might harm his device. He probably did not know you could use anything that fit. They are polarized for safety reasons. FWIW I generally agree, I wasn't suggesting using non-polarized plugs on polarized devices, but to trim the cord so a polarized plug goes in to a non-polarized device. The Premiere uses a standard, non-polarized, figure-8 plug. Can't speak for the Elite.The only picture of the back of a Premiere I could find that was sufficiently detailed to make out anything about the AC jack was a line drawing of the back of an Elite on the TiVo site, and it appears to be polarized, but with the flat part towards the middle, rather than either outside edge.
