I would have to strongly agree with a very nice look in 9.1!!

The new WishList process is pretty cool too. I've already renamed some of my ARWL. And the Manual Recording process is better.

All around, a good upgrade!

For me the biggest change is the speed of the Wishlist interface.

I purchased my S2 last June. I quickly added about 30 or 40 differrent wishes (mostly actor wishes) into the Wishlist and ground it to a halt. I had to pair it back quite a bit to get acceptable (but still very sluggish) performance for BOTH performing the initial "View all Wishlists" search and, most especially, the speed it took to "repopulate" the list when I moved in and out of the information screen from each wish.

It used to be almost unusably slow even with my paired down list of wishes.

But with this update its going like a bat out of hell. In fact its going SO fast I'm going to add back in all the wishes I removed!

Thanks TiVo!

...Dale

While I like most of the graphical changes they've made to the UI, there is one thing I don't care for... on the To Do List, it appears as though they are using a slightly larger font, and it's leaving little space for the names of the shows that are scheduled to record.

I'd like it better if it didn't list the weekday and date of every recording that is scheduled. Instead, devote a line of text with the weekday and date, and then list all programs scheduled that day under it. When the date changes, add another line to identify the date change. For example:

Wed 10/5
3:00 a.m. 5 KPHO One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest
9:00 a.m. 204 HBO Thanks for the Memories
.
.
etc. with rest of day's schedule...
.
.
.
Thu 10/6
6:00 a.m. 5 KPHO Local News

This would go a long way toward providing more room for program names.

Of course, I'd like it even better if the To Do List had an option for folders, where each folder is the date the recordings are scheduled for. And same thing for recording history, which can take ages to navigate through.

Did the Series 3 get this graphic overhaul? It didn't seem all that different to me after the 9.1 update? Not sure I noticed a difference on my Series 2 either but then again I didn't mess with it much yet after the update.

Does anyone have a screen shots?

The problem is even worse on the HD boxes.

Tivo appears to have increased the font size to make the To Do List easier to read. However, Tivo forgot that most HD channel names are at least least 5-6 characters, not 3-4 characters like SD channels. As a result, most HD channel names are cut off.

The Series 2 units got the same graphics that the Series 3 units already had. There's nothing different on S3.

Hmmm... I guess I never noticed a difference between the interface on my Series 2 and my Series 3. Although now I can't compare them now since they both have 9.1 :)

I concur, don't see any change in the menu's appearance

How funny, I thought they were using a smaller/narrower font because I think I can see more title info when I Browse by Time (Tivo-6).

It also seems easier to read. I wonder if the new font has a slight shadow on it because the contrast seems better.

The one area where the new look stumbles, is the page up/down arrows. The down arrow is hard to see because of insufficient contrast with the background.

new software? is it already out to everyone? I haven't noticed anything.
You haven't seen all the 9.1 threads on here? :)

Check the System Information menu option on your Tivo. The new version is 9.1. If you don't have it yet, you can get on the Priority List by putting your Tivo Service Number on this page...

http://research.tivo.com/91priority/index.htm

You should get it within 3 days. I entered my TSN on that page for both my Series 2 and Series 3 in the morning the day it was announced and by the evening when I forced a connection it downloaded the new version.
