No, the DRT800 is incapable of recording HD... You can hook it up to an HD cable box, but it will record in SD.

Unfortunately, there is not currently a TiVo box that can do both HDTV and burn DVDs. Seems to me I heard that they're working on one with Blu-Ray, though.

It sounds like we're in the same situation. I have a Humax DRT400 and a cable company HD DVR. I'm finding that I'm watching HD more and more and considering replacing my Humax.

None yet. I hope they do come out with one that has a built in Blu-Ray player/burner. That would be the Ultimate DVR.
