I had thought about that, but decided that is equivalent to option 1: "I'll buy regardless of the presence of TTG/MRV." My reasoning is that since TiVo says it's at least in part a CableLab issue their "promises" to deliver one or the other feature are essentially meaningless marketing hype since its not entirely in their control.
