On the S3, is there any way to tell *why* a channel is unavailable?

Here, my interactive "ON-DEMAND" channels show up as "no signal". My SDV channels and unauthorized channels are just blank screens . My "music channels" and radio rebroadcast channels are blank. And when a headend was recently screwed-up, one of my digital channels could be received on a STB, but was just a blank screen to TiVO. It's very confusing.

Is there any way to tell what's going on? Are my music channels encrypted, switched, in an unsupported format, or just mis-configured. I'd like to get them, but don't know how to approach it.

I know this must have been asked a million times. I searched & couldn't find it. A pointer to previous answer would be appreciated.

Thanks.

A switched channel will say "Channel Not Available". An unauthorized channel will show "Please Call Your Cable Company"....blah blah 1800-555-5555 to subscribe to this service with your host ID and cablecard ID. A channel with a possible signal problem will produce a gray or black screen with nothing else.

Obviously, that's not what happens here in Oceanic TWC land.

On "unauthorized" channels, I get blank.

On "on-demand" channels, I get the "channel not available"

On some HD SDV channels, I'm getting a blank screen with PIDs (from the diag display) in the 400s. I've never seen on on a normal channel that was higher than 175 or so.

On my music channels, I'm getting audio & video PIDs, but a blank screen and no music (On a STB it's music w/ description). On the radio channels, I'm only getting PIDS for audio, but just a blank screen with no audio. (On a STB it's a blank screen with audio).

Is it different everywhere else? Is Oceanic just sloppy?

Thanks. Kent
