Before I get bashed I searched on this forum and on google and couldnt find my answer.

I want to be able to record the Miami Heat....so I went to last nights game and prior to the game starting I set it up for Season Pass....however when I viewed future recording it only showed what was on different channels that night? I know how to use and set up regular programming w/season pass but am having difficulty with sport teams....

How can I be able to record all the Heat games.....sorry for stupid question.

Oberon is right - I put in Dallas Cowboys for mine and got everyting that comes on. If you choose it for all shows then you will also pick up any odd shows that come on that feature Miami Heat in the description or title.

Kinda funny but I used to get lots of King of the Hill - Hank is a Cowboys fan!

still have an issue...I have them set up for wishlist.sprts/basketball/HEAT....if I choose to auto record wishlist then I record lots of unecessary stuff.....for example if a particular game is being broadcast on 3 different channels it records them all...plus it picks up...inside the heat which is pregame and also heat postgame....I don't want to have to record 5 things in order just to watch one game.

Still need help

I'm focusing on the part of being sure to get every game. I'm not worried about the extra stuff. If it's very important to have each and every game, then it's not too much work to visit the To Do List every gameday. There's just no magic keyword to get every and only every game.

Determine on what channel the game will aired, and make sure that channel will be recorded for the appropriate time period. Think of it as old-school/retro.

Yes, it's possible to have one game show up in the descriptions of an ESPN channel or two, plus the League Pass, plus a regional sports channel or two. Visiting the To Do List also gives you the opportunity to remove the superfluous NBA Hardwood Classics, pre/post-game shows, etc., if you're not interested in them.

edit: If you're not missing games, then your problem isn't a big pain. I think it's better to have too much than not enough. If you have a SA TiVo DVR, you could set up SPs for "NBA Basketball" on each of the regional sports and local channels that carry Heat games. Put them above the WL in the SP Mgr. (That would eliminate the chances of a "CSI: Miami" being recorded, thanks to the WL, instead of an NBA game game on a higher-numbered channel. You're still going to get a bunch of extra shows with the WL, of course, but then you would only have to check the To Do List when the Heat are on TNT, ESPN, NBATV, ABC. I'd rather be in the habit of checking every day, though.

If you have a DirecTV w/TiVo DVR, then you know all the games titles contain the team names, which means you must use a WL. Although I guess one could set up a SP for every single match up (both home and away) throughout the season, which would help in subsequent seasons, e.g. a SP for Spurs @ Heat will work only once a season. /edit.

G'luck.

Try that same wishlist, but instead of HEAT try MIAMI HEAT. See what pops up with that. I have a SP for the Chicago Bears/sports/football and it only records the games and nothing else(so far, fingers crossed).

ARC...you are correct...too much is better then not enough...I was just hoping I'd be able to accomplish a bit easier

SKYWALKer - putting in Miami Heat DID eliminate post and pregame...that helps a bunch..now it just records the games on 3 channels...which is ok...I'll just delete them afterwards..

thanks to the both of you
