Hello, sorry if this is in the wrong thread.

I have been using Kmttg and it works fine transferring Tivo files to the computer and making them playable as Ts. files But Ts. Files are very glitchy (it even says that in the Kmttg program). While looking at the settings I notice it said if you have VideoRedo you can just adjust the settings in Kmttg so that decrypts and Qs. fix with VideoRedo to make for a much better file transfer and as glitch free as possible. So I went to the file location of my VideoRedo and then copied the file location and then went into Kmttg configuration and under VideoRedo - VideoRedo Executable I pasted the exact location for my VideoRedo. I also selected decrypt using VideoRedo and on the main page of Kmttg I selected Qs. fix. I have tried countless combinations of settings trying to make this work but every single time I get the same red error that always says qs fix failed/null/ server threw an exception. I don't even know what server threw an exception means so I doubt I can figure this out. Could someone far smarter than me please tell me exactly what configuration settings I should have checked (and unchecked) so that Kmttg can take a tivo file and send it to my computer and use videredo to decrypt and qsfix the file to give me the cleanest glitch free file possible?

Nothing I have tried has worked. Does anyone know what I need to have selected in the Kmttg file settings/Programs/Programs Options/Tivos/Visual/Web/VideoRedo/Auto tune/Auto skip/ and the startup page for Kmttg. Maybe something needs to be adjusted in the settings of my VideoRedo? If anyone has done this successfully please let me know what settings to select I really would appreciate it! Thank you!

My version is Kmttg v2.4P

What version is your VideoReDo? Plus, TVsuite, h.26x, etc?

TS can be quite glitchy, but it may be the only way to download h.264/MPEG4. You may need to use VideoReDo 6 meant for h.264.

Thank you both for replying.

I have VideoRedo TVSuite V5 Version 5.4.84.771 : TVSuite H.264

Would this version that I have work? I hate to throw another $50.00 dollars at an upgrade and still have the same problem or is it the only way?

I haven't used Pytivo in a long time. Is that new feature built into the program automatically or do I need to configure it somehow? Are the files/video transfers as clean or the same version I would get with a VideoRedo qs fix transfer?

Thank you again!

If you haven't tried pyTivo Desktop you should try it. It's completely self contained with an installer and a full featured UI. You configure it via an easy to use dialog.

Thank you Dan. I had to pick between Kmttg and Pytivo a few years back and just picked Kmttg because the interface seemed like you could do a lot more with it. I mainly just care about a clean glitch free video file transfer where the the audio and video is in sync and that I can easily select scroll and select multiple files to do at once. Do I need to have it connected with my VideoRedo somehow to get the cleanest files possible or will it simply give me the same clean ts file by throttling the connection like you mentioned.

P.S. Is there any settings you could recommend that I need turned on for this to be accomplished?

Thank you for your help!

It can connect to VideoReDo if you want, but it's not required.

To enable it I would recommend you enable the automatic retry mode. Set it to keep the best file. Set the retries to something moderate like 10. And enable the automatic throttling.

What that will do is it'll download one full version of the show at full speed. If it detects errors it'll cut the bandwidth and try again. If the new file has less errors than the first it'll keep that one and delete the first one, but if it has any errors at all it'll cut the bandwidth and try again. It'll keep doing this until it hits your limit or it downloads a completely error free file. It'll always keep the file with the least number of errors. If it can't get a clean file the file name will have a couple of numbers tacked on to the end like "yourshowname_3_86.tivo". The first number is the retry that produced this file and the second is the number of packets affected by errors. If the file is clean it will have no numbers on the end, so that's what you want.

In my tests I never had it take more than 5 retries with throttling to get a clean file. But a few users have reported some particularly stubborn files that took more. (I think the worst one I saw was 18) But AFAIK every file can be downloaded cleanly if it retries enough times.
