1. I am not as knowledgeable as I could be in the worlds of Home Theater and Iphones, so I will ask your assistance please!
   
   I have a Tivo with RCA audio output jacks which is used to supply all input to our primary television. I am using those to drive a pair of Sony wireless headphones.
   
   The goal is to let one person listen to TV programming without disturbing others. The problem is that SWMBO doesn't really like using the headphones and prefers to crank up the TV.
   
   I am hoping maybe earbuds would be better accepted. The Tivo is across the room from her favorite chair so something wireless is needed. She has an Iphone and also usually uses her laptop while watching TV!
   
   Unlike me, she does not take joy in solving technical problems. Convenience and reliablity are needed!

You hook it up to the TV's (or the TiVo box's) audio output and then pair it to a regular pair of BT headphones--voila. The benefit of this model/BT transmitter is its "extras": e.g. it separately can also be used as a BT receiver; has an extended range (I can listen to the bedroom TV wirelessly in the kitchen), although not as far as is advertised for "up to" lengths; and has an onboard battery and so can be used portably. It also comes with a bypass mode, to use the audio from a TV to a soundbar or other audio device without having to detach the BT transmitter.* This model comes with various (shorter) cables for various setups: an RCA cable, an audio patch cord, and an optical cable.

Note that there are various other versions from other sellers that seem identical to this one, as well as other models with some cosmetic differences--going by price/personal preference likely makes sense.

* Having said that, I've found that the bypass mode lessens the sound level, and it may not be sufficient for some people in that mode--to handle that, I've used an inexpensive audio splitter at my TV's audio output, with one lead going to this device and the other directly to my soundbar.
