I had the Cox San Diego service guy out to install two new CableCards in my Premiere and a new (to me) HD. I told him I had TA's from Cox but he said they were having channel jumbling problems and he would not connect them until I needed them (when we lose channels per their letter a month ago).I've read plenty of horror stories regarding them in other threads. I have a TiVo HD if it matters.
Thanks again. I hoped they would not charge for TA's that benefit Cox rather than the customer. We pay $2 per month here for CableCARDs.No. They are all free of charge and CableCards are $1.99/month, so at least in this market TiVo related fees charged by cable co. are very reasonable.
I shudder to think what "a lot of trouble" is if "loses all channels" isn't a lot of trouble.Mine also loses all channels every few months and has to be rebooted. I got one of the original ones that came with a bad patch cable; I had a lot of trouble initially until I replaced it.
Someplace I read that plugging the TA into the lower USB port on the TiVo made a difference?Got a cisco tuning adapter today (ordered it on friday) and it doesn't work. It worked for maybe an hour and poof, I got zero channels. A truck roll is coming tomorrow. I'm in San Diego.
