How can the Emmy's get worse? Ryan Seacrest to host

Well I was already boycotting the show due to their crappy procedure to screen and nominate shows and actors.

Now Seacrest will be hosting.

Someone needs to jump in and take over this sinking ship.

Amen.

This ensures I won't be watching. Was a coffee table unavailable to host?

I'd like to see Joel McHale (he hosts The Soup on E!) host the Emmys. But that would only happen if more people knew who he was (aside from myself and several thousand others).
I'll just look at the red carpet photos and read about the winners the day after.
Wow, Ryan Seacrest is probably one of the most annoying people ever on TV!
I just wanna know if it'll be in HD this year (for the first time).
Seacrest is HUGE in LA. Has a radio show, does entertainment reporting on local TV, etc. I guess the Hollywood types don't realize that the rest of the country can't stand him.

Actually, most of us here don't like him either! :D
So I guess they weren't looking for talent or style this year when picking out a host.

There is a lemming like quality to Hollywood thinking. "He's on Idol and look at the ratings they get, let's sign him."

Did anyone see Simon Cowell on 60 minutes last night? I know it was a repeat segment, but I have much more respect for the guy than I did before. I'm not an Idol watcher, so the only thing I knew about him were the insults he hurled at people that made other news. But he has done amazingly well in the music business for a guy with absolutely no musical talent.
So... I guess I'm one of the few people that actually don't mind Seacrest? I guess I don't see what is so objectionable about him. *shrug*

I think that Seacrest will is a good choice.

I just think he's bland and boring, not objectionable.

But he was pretty funny in "Knocked up".
This guy is the luckiest man in show business. Didn't he just get a Super Bowl deal as well?!
Bland, boring, fake, you name it...that's what Seacrest is.
The only Emmies host I've enjoyed in the last decade has been Ellen DeGeneris.

The rest of them did nothing but usher us from one presenter to the next, so it doesn't really who they get to host it. This sets up Seacrest to do very well. If he happens to be funny or entertaining, I won't be entirely surprised, but I'll be happy.

I liked Ellen too. I think she one of the funniest comediennes working today.

He's not fake. He truly is bland and boring.

I think they prefer "comediettes".

+1

Personally, I think he's talented, and obviously a hard worker. Not sure where all the vitriol comes from...
Can we at least get Dunkelman to co-host?
