Hey, everyone. Long-time TiVo user here. I've got a 3-Premiere setup, it's all Moca-enabled, and everything works great. One TiVo has a connection to the Ethernet home backbone. The other 2 are also in ethernet bridging mode, but they only have client devices like Blu-Ray players and gaming systems connected, so no loops. As I say, everything works great and has been great for years now.

I'd like to extend the household network up a floor. There is no ethernet upstairs, but there is shared coax with the downstairs. Perfect for Moca, right? At least that's what I thought. I bought one of the white, TiVo-branded Moca bridges (ECB6000TIVO) and connected it to a live coax outlet upstairs. The second LED on the unit lights quickly, and I do see the bridge's MAC address listed in the list of known Moca nodes on the Premieres. So, it looks like everything is connected correctly.

HOWEVER (you knew it was coming), it looks like the new bridge doesn't pass any IP traffic. I've connected a laptop to the bridge's ethernet. I get link on the port. I never get a DHCP IP address. (I get it when connected to ethernet on the lower floor.) If I manually assign an IP address to the laptop ethernet, I can't ping anything on the lower floor, but I do see the ethernet port LEDs on the bridge flash, indicating activity.

What have I missed, and what can I try? The "manual" for this thing is useless.

Ah, thought about this a little more and realized I was jumping ahead of myself. I was trying to ping devices on the downstairs ethernet. Pinging the TiVos themselves on Moca was working. This meant that the Moca bridge was ok, and the problem was somewhere downstream. So, I just had to hunt down and reset some powerline adapters which were also part of this picture--evidently they weren't passing traffic from new/unknown IPs (the DHCP server was also on the other side of this powerline jump from the upstairs bridge).

I'll leave this thread here if for no other reason than to share the advice, "when dealing with a Moca bridge, try pinging other stuff on the Moca first!"

It's Premiere2 that's the main TiVo, connecting Moca (and Moca-connected) stuff to the main home ethernet backbone, but every TiVo is bridging its local ethernet.
