) & the difference in picture quality is huge. If you are using the DVDR for long term archiving I would suggest that this is a must. The setup in the first reply, as mentioned, is RGB. The way you are attempting to set it up is composite only. It just shows how old TiVo is now that the VCR socket only outputs composite (as the title suggests). Persevere with Automan's setup, it is worth it.
Its not really a question of Tivo's age. In a SCART connection most signals can be input and output at the same time using different dedicated pins. Unfortunately there aren't enough pins for RGB to have both input and output (which I think is SCART showing its age) so you have to choose which direction to support. At the time when Tivo was adapted for the UK there were no DVD recorders so passing through RGB allowed both a DVD player and Tivo to use the (usually single) RGB SCART socket on the TV. Of course time has passed but I still think that being able to record out RGB on the VCR SCART but not pass RGB back through Tivo to the TV would have been a mistake.mmartinK0646 said:
