HELP! Need More Space, What to do?

First post here so if this has been covered at length before I apologize before hand.
I have a DirecTV HD unit that uses TiVo. I am running out of space and would like to either a) transfer my HD recordings somewhere in HD, or b) get a bigger HD in the unit and transfer my existing HD recordings to that drive.
Any suggestions? Any ideas?

I just put in a 320gb and raised the HD to 39 hours.

The Weaknees hard drive add is very easy. You pay a premium for buying the upgrade from them versus your own hd, dvrupgrade then hooking it up to a pc but you will be done in an hour. I have done both. Fred

I wanted to add more recording space as well.

After all of the posts in the HR10-250 and MPEG4; Upgrade Offer thread I called to see what I could do in my case.

I could get the $19 deal and free HD for 12 months ($120) plus some free programming. It hit me that I could have the HR20 and return it after the 2 year commitment having used it for free.

So how about a second hard drive for free plus 2 extra tuners, plus 70 extra HD channels...maybe for free?

Here are the steps if you are interested.

I second this for ease BUT make sure you dont pinch the one twisted IDE wire as I did when adding the 2nd drive. I had to wait for another cable.

Not fun.

I was slow and very careful doing this but if you are fast, you can drop and run in about 15-20 min

milominderbinder...........Time to put you in my IGNORE LIST. Every message you post in any of the TiVo forums are the same. ENOUGH ALREADY! . Over and over and over. After reading the same thing 90 times it is getting a bit old. Do you get paid a fee every time someone clicks your link at DBStalk?

Why not just take a paid ad out and let your message roll across continuously across the top of the screen.

Mr. Ed,

I am a TiVo owner who like you receives no compensation. If you want to add 200 hours of storage, you may be able to do it for free. That is the best deal I know of for the added storage.
