We just had two cablecards installed, and were getting up to channel 86. However, when we run guided setup, NO channels show up when it asks "what do you see on channel X"?

What do I do now? I don't see anything!

Well, we had to have the cable company "hit" the cards again. They're currently going through each channel and validating they work. HBO isn't working right now...but they're trying to figure out how to fix it.

Then we need to go through and validate that BOTH tuners are receiving all the channels...

So, good news so far. I'm crossing my fingers!

Sounds similar to my issue. I was told by Tivo that the channels from my account weren't properly mapped to the cable cards. Still trying to get Comcast to resolve it.
Mike, i've seen a bunch of your posts. I'm only getting basic local channels and local HD channels. Everything appears to be paired properly and the conditional access screens look good according to Tivo. At this point, who do we call?

Try to tune each Tivos to a separate HD channel that you would normally get but aren't getting right now. Now restart the Tivo. As soon as the movie starts playing, hit Live TV on the remote. Are you now temporarily getting the channels that you should be? If so, this is what I am seeing.

It seems like the ball started rolling for me when I called Tivo last night. They did a conference call with Comcast for me. I finally talked with someone at Cocmast today who actually knew something about cablecards and he seemed very commited to helping me (asked me to call him directly tomorrow if the instaler who is coming doesn't know what to do or isn't able to get things fixed).

Good luck.

I'll bet you $20 your cards are not validated and the channels you are talking about have a non-zero CCI flag.

If you see a flash of a picture, then grey, it's a cable company authorization problem and the cable cards themselves are probably fine.

I have the same problem and my local cable provider (Cox) is trying to figure out how to fix it.

Last night I happened to be at a house with a fully-functioning CableCARD device and I took the opportunity to check their setup. I noted a couple of key differences.

Their Host ID screen has the CableCARD number, Host ID and a message "Authorization Received"; both of my cards are missing the latter message.

Their CP screen reads "Auth Status:CP Auth Received"; both of mine read "Auth Status:Waiting for CP Auth".
