Hi, I'm new to Tivo.
When watching a few hours of network TV I get a pop- up box on the bottom of the screen that asks
"Still watching? Press OK to continue"

Mind you this is not Netflix- It is network TV.

This happened yesterday February 2 2020 while watching the superbowl.
Same thing happened last month when I was watching the Golden Globes on NBC.

I have WAVE cable and contacted them when this first happened last month and they said they know nothing about it.
(As I stated, I'm new to having Tivo. I've had Comcast for 15 some years prior to this. I've moved to a a different state)

Anyone relate?
thank you

There's a list of abbreviations in my signature. WAVE isn't very popular: Wave Broadband - Kirkland, WA

Can you post the model number from the rear of the TiVo?
I'm at work right now.
What will the model number tell you?
I posted a picture below of the TV screen with the pop up message.

thanks everyone for helping me out.

It's from the provider- WAVE
I don't know what switched digital video is.
Post #4 in the thread linked earlier explains SDV and the messages you're getting - and you do have SDV. WAVE has to own up to this since they supply everything you have. Complain to the FCC if they continue to stone-wall you.

Complain to the FCC about what?

This is a feature to allow the SDV channel to be "reclaimed" if the user is no longer watching it.

The software is acting as designed.

The only thing wrong here is that the WAVE reps are not aware. While it'd be nice if they were, we're talking about a very minor thing to happen. I'm sure every WAVE rep doesn't know EVERYTHING about TiVo.

I'm pretty sure no rep, either for WAVE or any other cable provider, knows "EVERYTHING" about TiVo. In fact most of them know almost nothing. But if WAVE is supplying this equipment their reps definitely should know about this message.

You're probably right it isn't worth complaining to the FCC about. I've never thought complaining to the FCC was all that effective for most TiVo-related problems, actually. Tuning Adapters were a case of wishful thinking that in practice were a PITA for thousands of TiVo users, as evidenced by posts on this forum.

My wife often goes to sleep with the TV on, after I'm asleep. I wake up and see this message and I know that she is asleep. This is my que to turn the TV off. I thought it was suppose to work that way.

OP says that this happened while watching the Superbowl. It seems unlikely to me that a cable company would put a major broadcast network like FOX on SDV. I may be mis-remembering, but isn't there some FCC rule that says cable companies can't put broadcast stations on SDV?

You're correct, a local broadcast station should not be allowed to be SDV.

Does this provider use IPTV? Could that be different?

I contacted WAVE again to ask about this with a different person. In total, I spoke to three different people.
One said they had never heard of this happening and couldn't give me any answers; the other two said it was a function of TiVO and could not be turned off.

Again, this happened on network live TV. I had the superbowl on yesterday when the message popped up. Please see my picture that I posted. It also happened when I was watching the Golden Globes last month.

Does this happen when you choose to record or only when watching live TV or both? It should not happen if you choose to record.
