I was given an HDR32104 (Phillips PVT300) that isn't working correctly by a person I know who didn't want to mess with it and bought a newer model. When I connect it up and power it on I get "Almost there, please wait a few more seconds...", then the dreaded green screen saying I should leave the box plugged in for 3 more hours while it attempts to repair itself. From what I understand, the person who donated the box already tried leaving it on for much longer than 3hrs and it didn't fix anything. So... is the harddrive bad? Should I try to reimage it or is it more likely a bigger problem? Any thoughts?

Yuo could try to re-image it, or try a new HDD.

Thanks for the reply classicat.

Ok, so I did the InstantCake thing and imaged the new drive... now when I turn the Tivo on I get absolutely nothing. My setup is as follows

Cable Line->Dig Cable box-coax->TiVo-coax->TV.

When I power it on I get nothing. Could I have screwed up the imaging somehow? Any ideas??
