Not to rehash old issues...but I am about to help a family member purchase a HD-DirecTV/TiVo....and a HDMI cable....are there still outstanding issues I should be aware of ???
The TV is the new Sony SXRD rear projection KDSR50XBR1
Don't buy the HDMI cable. One comes with the HR10-250. Purchasing another cable is a waste of money. Plus if the TV has a component video input, I'd use that instead of the HDMI cable.
The HDMI will offer a better picture and it should be noticeable on the 1080P SXRD. At least a better picture is noticeable with HDMI using my 1080P DLP set. Plus I have the 5.1 sound going over the HDMI to my video scaler so that is one less cable I need to use.
