Ok, so my var hack directory was recently wiped, so I FTP's my backup tivo to my PC desktop and then ftp'd to the main tivo that losts its hack directory.

Now, all os ok, but I have lost my endpad...

If I try and run it, I get no such file or directory error.....

I have tried downloading it again, and sending it over, chmodding it at 755 etc...
But gettnig the same message..

To be honet it has been like this for ages, but missing hte end of top gear again this weekend has got me miffed.

I am a little sozzled tonight, but thought I would send this message and see how it gies...
Thank you.

Check what path you are trying to run EndPad from in rc.sysinit.author. You'll probably find it's not where you have it on the other machine.

It is annoying, I have Joe'd the file and every line has MM on the end

I think this may be my problem, I have tried transfering it in Ascii and Binary, but viewing it shows a MM on every line.

If I edit through the FTP program in windows it has two blank lines after every line.

Help, I am going mad.

Sounds to me like your original download has been DOSed by the browser.
As Marrink0646 says dos2unix or edit it with Textpad.com and save as UNIX format before you FTP in binary mode to Tivo.
You could probably fix the line endings in Joe, but I have a nightmare everytime I use it so wouldn't know how to do it reliably.

Thanks for that, worked great, also found the transfer mode option in my FTP program, set to binary now, all appears ok, and I will NOT miss another ending of Top Gear (What is it about that program that always overruns, it isn't even Live)!!!!..
