OK, I'm grudgingly using my HR-20 and not a minute passes where I don't miss my Tivo. Additionally, I had some irreplaceble programs on the Tivo. I had the problem where it had shutdown because of overheating. 2 months ago I had serached the forums and nobody really knew. Has anyone found a good shop?

Thanks!

You may want to try running your unit without the HDMI, some have said this will help with that problem. If it is an older HDMI there is a company that fixes them for 100 dollars, but if you look around on ebay you may be able to find another unit for just over that price and then you would have 2 units, one for parts and a new replacement. The company yoy are looking for is the ccs corparation
Good luck

You could try CCS corporation. However, check the power supply first and make sure it's not the problem. Look at the capacitors and see if any of them look like they're bulging at the top. If they are then you could try replacing the capacitor or get yourself a new power supply. Weaknees sells them but you'll have to bend over and take it like a man if you want to buy one. Your best bet would be to buy a used HDTivo on ebay and swap the power supplies. There are units with bad hard drives being listed all the time that can be had for about $50-75 plus shipping.
