Happy Endings: Season Two Thread

So what do y'all think of Season Two?

This was a show that I really liked last year. A Spring filler show, that had almost no chance of being picked up, and quickly turned into one of my favorites. And then, in one of those unexpected surprises, it was picked up for a 2nd season.

Mixed emotions so far. It's still one of the sharpest sitcoms on TV, but maybe not quite as consistently funny as I'd like. Still very good, but I have memories of it being better than it is.

It's kinda like Community--when it's funny, it's REALLY funny. And the rest of the time, it's still good.

Love the group dynamics; this is a well-cast show.

ep 1 was a little all over the place, but ep 2 was very good

as I mentioned in the cancellation thread, I'm a bit worried because it's not holding onto enough of the Modern Family audience. wouldn't be surprised if it got moved to another spot
We still love it.
I still find it ah-mahzing
I love it. I think they need to give it time to grow. They treated Season 1 as a throw-away, so its not like a lot of people are familiar with how great this show is yet.
We love it! I have been an Eliza Coupe fan ever since she joined Scrubs.
Excellent episode. And I hate musicals:D.

The improv couple was great, loved how they kept shoveling the BS at the tourists. And Penny had a lot of screen time--love her character.

The ratings are up for Happy Endings--the word is spreading!

I wish TCF had a FB-esque "like" button, so that I could "like" this post. :)
Full season pickup for Happy Endings!

ABC Gives Full-Season Orders to Once Upon a Time, Happy Endings and Last Man Standing

ABC on Thursday granted full-season orders to two more of its freshman series — Once Upon a Time and Last Man Standing — as well as the sophomore comedy Happy Endings.

This is one of our new favorites - we discovered the reruns over the summer. :)
I really hope this get renewed! The entire season has been great, especially last night's season finale.
I was surprised that the season finale was so soon. It looked like Max has been losing weight, even though they made a big deal about him not fitting into his costume (and eating too much pizza). I wonder how things are going to go with Brad. I'm glad they didn't go the comedic route and have Jane be upset about it.

I think ABC wants to try a different show after Modern family and new eps of MF start next week. While the ratings for Happy Endings aren't terrible, the retention rate out of MF isn't good.
So glad when I read it got renewed... I came across a rerun in December and ended up watching all of season one and whatever had aired of season two in a couple of weeks. It's definitely my brand of humor so I'm glad it's sticking around at least for another year.

Only thing I'm not into is the Penny/Dave storyline... I just feel like that whole thing has been done to death and doesn't make things interesting, it just feels like a broken record... "Ooh we have two characters who have been friends forever and have never shown romantic interest in each other whatsoever--what if one day, they did!!"... it's just tired.

I can roll with it on this show. They've taken a lot of tired situations and made them funny. What is really the difference is the actual dialogue. The patter is very intricate and well timed. You get the feeling that these people really are friends. And real. (Well, except the bear thing.)

Doesn't seem like they're going there exactly: Dave is apparently still interested in Alex.

Where did you read this? As far as I know it hasn't yet been renewed for season 3.

Which sucks because it consistently beats MF in the funny. Definitely my favorite comedy.
I don't know, but this show for me at least has gone from one of my favorite sitcoms, to almost pulling the season pass.

They are just too over the top this season ( except Dave).
