I just bought a brand new HP 3120n and from a factory image hard drive I am unable to make Tivo->H.264 transcoding work. The transcode looks like it works okay but the resulting video is missing video frames and more than not flashes a green screen instead of the video.
The video codec is the standard MPEG-2 bundled with Vista and the H.264 codec is whatever Tivo Desktop comes with, although I tried it with and without Quicktime installed and it didn't work either way.
Tivo offers no phone support or email support for Tivo Desktop and I'm just about ready to return this new PC I bought and go buy a refurbished XP machine.
I spent all day on this and I'm literally losing hair over it. Anyone who has suggestions, I would really appreciate it if you would share them.
