Guide not updating on R10

Have had periodic issues with the guide not updating over the last few weeks. For example, noticed that season pass for "Celebrity Apprentice" was not seeing future episodes.
Normally, don't have R10 hooked up to the phone line, in fact, went over 300 days without a call and the guide updated fine. Hooked the R10 up to a phone line, made a call, didn't fix the guide issue. Directv support says that the guide is updated via the phone line, which I know isn't true. They suggested leaving the phone line hooked up, which I am doing now. Is anyone having issues with their guide not updating on their R10? Thanks.

Yes the guide is updated through the satellite connection on all of the directivo's, try rebooting the unit and see if that helps any.

BTW: what software ver are you running on the r10?
It is 6.4a-01-2-521 .
Thanks.
one other idea, I had a problem with a program doing the same thing that your r10 (mine is a HDVR2), I fixed it by removing the season pass I was have a problem with and putting it back on, and that fixed my problem, you could try that and see what happens.
The first thing I always try is unplugging it, waiting a while then plugging it back it. That has fixed many problems over the last 10+ years
