Hi all...

My TiVO Romio has an error in the Guide. The CBS Evening News is shown daily at 5:30 p.m. (central time). The Guide has it in two places, 4:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. If I try to schedule the recurring recording of this program (OnePass), the system selects the 4:00 a.m. time in the Guide (even though I selected the correct time in the Guide listing) and doesn't let me change it to the correct time.

My work-around has been to create a Manual OnePass for the (correct) 5:30 p.m. time and delete the OnePass created using the Guide.

I restarted the TIVO network connection (no help).

Ideas.

Depending on your local CBS affiliate they may be rerunning CBS Evening News the next morning at an earlier hour. I noticed it a week or so ago on my local CBS (KEYC Mankato, MN) at 5am (before the local news starts at 5:30). I have the 1p for everything so I just go in and delete the rerun after I watch the new episode

Interesting on Monday they showed Sunday's episode which technically is titled CBS weekend news

So technically the guide may be right on the title...just the date is wrong

Thanks guys for your replies... I submitted a Lineup issue. But.. now I see on the local TV station's listing that they show a repeat of last night's CBS evening news at 4:00 a.m.

What happens when I create a 1P is that the system finds the first one (the 4:00 a.m. showing) and since that is the first show of the day it must 'think' that the 5:30 pm show is the repeat. I turned on New and Repeats, and the 5:30 pm show still did not show up in 1P.

If I set the 1P to 'Everything' then both shows do appear in the 1P. So.. it seems that my options are to continue to use the Manual 1P that I set up or let it record both showings and delete the repeated showing that occurs at 4:00 a.m. Something of a nuisance

Thanks again.

Set your pass to record everything and keep at most: 1.

The early 4am news is new as well as the others. The guide data for news is old and generic.

Ok... I set up to record 'Everything' and to keep only ONE episode. If I look in the ToDo list I see this:
  • Not scheduled for today (Friday) -- don't know why
  • Not scheduled for the weekend (Saturday and Sunday) -- show is not on so this is ok
  • Not scheduled for Monday -- hmmm
  • Scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday (morning repeat and evening new -- two instances / day) -- this is what I expect to see
  • Not scheduled for Thursday and on
I think the OnePass feature takes a while to identify and schedule all instances of a show, so I'll keep watching the ToDo list to see what it says.

Thanks for the ideas... This is somewhat a 'gotcha' in the way TiVo does its scheduling. There's no way I'm aware of (short of doing a manual recording) to have the scheduler record only the 5:30 p.m. show.

This happens when I schedule Saturday Night Live There's a re-run bit that comes on at 9:00 p.m. and the new show (when that happens) that comes on at 10:30 p.m. (CDT). The scheduler schedules both to record.

After the update today it has been fixed for this upcoming week. Here is what I see for my CBS (KEYC Mankato, MN)
Saturday and Sunday is a different title (CBS Weekend News)
Monday at 5am it says CBS Weekend News and NEW (even though its the rerun)
Monday night at 5:30 it says NEW and a episode date of 4/13/20
Tuesday morning at 5AM although it says new it shows a episode date of 4-13-20 so it wont record
Tuesday-Friday its the same way

If its generic data in the guide for the 9pm episode (which is usually what happens) Tivo records it regardless of what your settings are..
Generic data is something like this..."Talented actors and comedians who are accompanied by a weekly guest host present a series of skits and sketches; includes musical performances from popular artists." and has no actual air date

Hi;
Yep... thanks. It looks as though we have the same setup. A 1P for all showings of the CBS Evening News (KHOU, Ch 11, Houston, TX), and for the re-run of the previous night's news. Monday shows that the early morning replay is for the Weekend News, which I'd expect. (I have a 1P for the Weekend News as well.) Subsequent days show the early morning replay is for the Evening News, which I'd also expect.

The morning showing is tagged as 'New' when it obviously isn't.

So, I think I have a usable setup now, even though I'll be recording, then throwing away, the morning replay.

Cheers...

I didn't get an email, and I wouldn't say the problem is fixed. I have what I'd call a 'work around' to get the result I want.
When you submit a lineup change, you should receive an email with a case number. I usually write the problem on a printout of that email. You have a valid problem that should be easy to fix.

My last problem was sent in on 3/28 and it's still not fixed.
