Okay, I did not see that final scene coming. I was fairly certain that off-screen situations would have prevented this turn of events but it was still wonderful to see for the characters.

Oh and I really, really do not like Station 19. I tried to give it another chance but I ended up fast forwarding through most of it.

This is a season 17 thread for Grey's Anatomy. If you haven't watched the first (2 hour) episode do not read any further until you do. Be sure to watch all the way to the end. :)
@ScubaCat - I am not going to read any of this thread right now...but was hoping that you (or someone) could PM me and let me know if it is critical/important for me to watch Station 19 in order to enjoy the season premiere of Grey's Anatomy this season... Thanks!

Was the current show runner (who was the original show runner) in charge when they killed off Derek? She's undone a lot of the changes made while she was gone. Maybe McSteamy will be back next!

I thought they did a good job integrating the abrupt end of last season with the current state of the world. I appreciated the flashbacks.

And I detest Station 19. I FF through almost all of it. It's a terrible show. I'm not going to get sucked in to any more crossovers. Not worth the effort. IF I miss something I don't care.

I like Jo and Jackson together!

Not a fan of Owen, but good for him telling Teddy to get lost. I don't know why she didn't tell him what she told Jo. Not that I think Owen should immediately forgive her, but certainly she didn't give him a reason to even think about forgiving her.

Glad to see Richard and Catherine reconcile. I'm not crazy about Catherine, but she's a good partner for Richard.

I only lasted 5 minutes. I can't watch the covid stuff. It's way too stressful.
I can relate. When I saw they were all in on the Covid stuff I almost turned it off. These days I watch TV to escape the real world crap. I decided to stick it out and it was difficult. But I was happy to see some new, pre-Covid, scenes where they caught us up on what had happened since the abrupt end to last season. Not sure how long I'll be able to keep watching, but I'm still in, for now.

I'm sure they spent a lot of money on the location shoot and keeping it secret, so I'd expect them to milk it for the entire season.
TV shows and movies using Point Dume beach should be required to film a recreation of the Planet of the Apes scene.

It was really nice to see George. I was hoping it would be Lexie, but George was good.

Interesting to see that they are getting Mer in the monoclonal antibodies trial. I was wondering if it would be that or convalescent plasma that saved her.

Enjoyed the interaction between Helm and Tom. He didn't look so good while avoiding Teddy at the door. I couldn't tell if he was looking sicker or if he was just upset that Teddy was there.

Jo and Jackson are making for an interesting friends with benefits duo. I hope they keep them as friends and don't try to make it a big romance. They are much more entertaining that Glasses and Ortho Doc...I don't like them enough to even try to remember their names.

Tom was wrapped in a blanket and appeared to be shivering and struggling to breathe when Teddy was at the door so it would appear he is in real trouble. I wonder if he gets his own beach or if he will show up on Meredith's beach.

I was hoping for George but would have enjoyed seeing Lexie on the beach. I'll bet we see her soon. It would be cool if she was with McSteamy. And maybe we will see Doc the dog as well!

Lexie and McSteamy would be great! They've killed off so many good characters.

I wasn't sure if Tom was crying or sick when Teddy was as the door, but I was pretty tired while watching and didn't go back and review. I'm sure your description of his condition is better than my confused recollection.

Would be nice to see Ellis in a lucid state-so she and Meredith could have an "adult" conversation :)

I liked how they "explained" how George was older now even though he was dead. Great to see him again-

If I remember correctly, Meredith had a lucid conversation with her mother after the bomb incident several seasons ago before she even found out that Ellis had passed. But a new scene would be interesting.
