I think this is the first episode that I cna point to and say the main characters we've been following this year all seemed at home in their position as residents... as much as they can, at least. Izzy's the weakest. And of course George being a repeat-intern is exempted. :)

I'm glad to see a little thaw between Meredith and her sister. And, as always, get excited when Alex comes through like he did this time around with the kid with the spinal fluid build-up. He's still my favorite, too, so maybe I'm a little biased. :p

Frankly George needs to dump Izzy an reaffirm his devotion to Callie as his wife. Izzy is so wrong for him on so many levels.

I'm kinda glad we got some payoff from Really Old Guy after all those lunches, too.

I just can't believe what Alex said at the end....why would he do that to George?

Also this should be interesting the alliance between Miranda/Callie.

What is the deal with the older intern from UCLA..is he recurring or just last night's episode?

It was kind of odd seeing Gilmore Grandpa as an intern on Grey's, but I think House had already paved the way for an older actor (Carmen Argenziano) to play a similar role. Interesting little pattern there.

I liked Really Old Guy waking up and knowing all of them. I also liked that Sloane and Webber both took George's comments as an "old dogs, new tricks" kind of challenge, when that wasn't how I was reading the comment at all. George seemed more genuinely curious if they'd done the procedure, knew what was involved. I think if the attendings hadn't gone off like that, George might even suggested finding an expert for an in-surgery video consult.

I really liked the Meredith made some progress with her sister, especially the whole "she hates my mom" thing since the audience knew otherwise. I also liked Karev and the way he ordered Grandpa around, but Bailey was right that he shouldn't have apologized.

I know its not really in George's character, but I was kinda hoping for a turn and punch reaction. Not sure why, just something that i wanted to see.
Well he did do it when he found out that Alex gave him syphilis.

I was fairly pissed at Alex at the end. He does stuff just to hurt other people.

I can see why Alex did it. George was being made a hero for failure. Last I checked I am not rewarded at work for being a failure. Being a repeater is not supposed to be a glamorous thing.
I can understand that reason if that's why Alex did it. But the way he did it seemed he set out more to hurt or "destory" George rather than to let the truth out. His reaction to his intern and Lexy seemed to confirm that.

Alex did it because of Bailey's lecture to him about coddling his older intern. The residents are there to teach the interns lessons, hard ones if necessary, to make them better doctors -- not to protect them. Letting the other interns fawn over George for being a failure is not the right lesson, for either the interns or George. So Alex busted him. Of course, being Alex, he couldn't help but do so brutally.

Good explanation of Alex's action. I agree.

I hate George and Izzy as a couple. They were so much fun as friends. I hope they go back to that. I like the Callie character, but I hate her with George. Guess the only "love interest" I've liked with George was the nurse that gave him the STD.

I was hoping Meredith and McD were finally going to break-up. I'm tired of them together. Or if they could do the best-friends with benefits thing, that could be ok. But the tortured relationship thing is a bummer.

The McDreamy/Meredith thing is very tedious and pretty boring these days....I agree.
I don't know that I like George with Izzy as a couple, but clearly he married Callie for the wrong reasons.....He never really did love her...he was just vulnerable after his father died, etc..

So, I don't think he should stay with her and be unhappy. However, I don't know that Izzy is the answer , but if anyone did SOMETHING to move off the dime instead of whining and going back and forth, painfully, with no decision...Perhaps it would make it more interesting....

Let's have some kind of forward movement....going in circles is getting me dizzy.
