The reality is that when I found the surge protector in the style I liked, I should have gotten it right then. I was wanting something different but I kept thinking I like hits one, then I couldn't find it again. Though it may not have been a surge protector anyway.

The old one doesn't seem to be. The TV and antenna plugged in to it work fine. At least I think the TV works fine. The converter box quit. If one of my other TVs goes bad I can always move this one.

Only the Series 3 is misbehaving after lightning this morning. The only other thing that went wrong was my desktop screen came one and the blinking light on the "on" button quit blinking, meaning I had to turn the desktop on instead of touching a key on the keyboard. Everything else in the house works fine.

The Series 3 wouldn't reboot even when I unplugged it, not even when I left it unplugged for a long time.

I think there may be something wrong with the MB and its not fixable. (blinking green light on Tivo, if that is what you mean.)

I was worried that might be the case. I thought maybe if I sent it off, but that's expensive. Especially since it's more than seven years old and I think I got it used.

The Bolt is not doing a good job of picking up one channel the Series 3 was getting really well. I untangled the cord coming from the antenna and even held up the antenna, which I can only do for a short time.

The Bolt is really, really hard to use. I did finally figure out how to do a manual recording which is all I needed.

What I'd really like to do is rescue the recordings on the Series 3. There wasn't enough room. Most of them are shows or movies from when I wasn't backing up while watching to see something I missed, but there was no way anyway to figure out what I'd need to see. There may have been a few shows I didn't see.
