Got 14.8, now channels are gone.

This may simply be a coincidence, but I noticed that a bunch of channels are now missing (they say no signal found, rather than not authorized, which I've seen before when there was some kind of cable card problem). After noticing that, I noticed that the little preview window now has a note at the bottom saying "Press Zoom", so I thought maybe I had gotten an updates, and I checked, and I see I'm on 14.8 now. I'll have to try calling comcast to see what they say (but there probably isn't any point in calling on the holiday weekend, and they may reappear as magically as they disappeared).

Something similar happened with Comcast in Houston earlier this month. They screwed up the QAM mappings and it just happened not to affect their own DVRs, but did affect TiVos and some TVs that used cable cards.

I should add re-running the channel setup to my list of things to try before I get desperate enough to get on the phone with comcast (the absolute last resort :). I still need to try plugging the cable feed directly into the tivo to eliminate all the splitters and wot-not, and power cycling the tivo sometimes helps as well.
