Ok, so here's the deal. I tried helping a friend out in getting into a Tivo unit. I purchased a rs-tx20 and everything was fine (so I thought). I upgraded the HD to a 300GB and sent it off to them. Upon getting it, they quickly discovered that the telephone jack was bad (fried) and since I use broadband, I hadn't caught this problem. They sent it back and I can't get the local repair shop to fix the problem. So, I want to back track to the original drive now and sell this one off as-is (works fine for those of us with high speed internet, but I already have 4 units!). My question is, can I go backwards in drive size returning to the original drive, or, as I seem to remember reading somewhere before about some units, once I upsized they cannot go back... I don't want to try just putting it back in only to discover that there is some bad consequences for doing this.

Anyone know about this one? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Just copy the drive with the -s option, and leave out the x option on the restore.
