So many Britney moments! :D

"I thought our Nationals Trophy would have grown over the summer!" :D

I was going to help (with the fire) but I am a water sign...;)

Rachel: (Let's put on) West Side Story!
Britney: Is that the one with the cats? :p

Nice to see Lindsey from The Glee Project  (even though I thought she was fake fake fake on TGP) - she did a good job!

Blaine is with ND! SQUEEEEEEEEEEEE! :D:p

And Finn sticking to playing drums. Lets hope that lasts.
Don't forget Britney asking that Jewish kid (what's his name again??) if he was working on a time machine after he asked her what she was doing in the future.

lol

Who is Lindsey? The new girl that had the awful tryout?
I may have trouble sticking with the series through this third season, based on the premiere. As is now typical for me, I found myself fast-forwarding through most scenes with Sue. There just isn't a point to the character anymore, especially -- though this is not a surprise -- after they immediately (and pointedly) undid the goodwill between her and the glee club generated by the funeral episode at the end of last season. And here in the third year, it's simply not plausible that the glee club are complete outcasts at the school. I cringed through the performance of "We Got the Beat" (which was otherwise fun), knowing for sure what was to come at the end of it.

But there was some good stuff. I like that Kurt and Rachel appear set as fast friends (at least for now). I liked the musical numbers, even the obligatory Blaine solo. I like Quinn and Santana being out of the club for now, even if the reasons ring completely false.

So a mixed bag for me.
I think the parts I hate most about Sue is not that she's so over the top, but rather that she's so over the top unbelievable. There's no way that any teacher could ever get away with what she does at that high school. Seriously, destroying a piano because she felt like it?
I thought it was n okay episode. Good dose of Rachel tonight.

I gotta say though that they need to impress me this year. We know we are losing Rachel, Finn and Kurt but the interviews made it seem like Santana and Brittany may also be going. That is a lot of cast turnover to expect viewers to deal with next year.

No, Lindsey was the lead vocalist in that performance at the mixer that Rachel and Kurt went to.

Oh... OK.

They were pretty good.
And Don't forget Britney after the food fight said she had gotten Pepperoni down her shirt and Santana had to tell her no those are you nipples! :)

HA! I missed that one! :D
Was the girl that tried out the best friend from American Dreams? Also, is she going to be a regular?
How did Will think a videotaped "glitter bomb" was going to hurt Sue? Maybe light her megaphone on fire or something.

I did get a laugh out of Santana and Becky going at it. And of course "Wait, you're working on a time machine too?"
I think to survive the show needs to somehow move away from repeating the same conflicts of the past over and over and over, especially the conflicts with Sue.

Not to mention Mike Change as wel.
And I would think that Puck is a senior now too as is Quinn.

Put me in the "Getting Tired of Sue's over the top conflict" camp.

It's been played out already.

So Chord Overstreet is gone.
Was he released or did he decide not to come back on his own?

He was bumped back to recurring status, similar to how Ashley Fink (Lauren) will be this season. He was offered a handful of episodes, with the opportunity for more, but he decided it was better for his career to opt out of the series completely.
This is a make or break year for Glee. It can't sustain itself by hanging the songs on a weak narrative and Sue's cartoon villiany. It's premier numbers were down 30% from last year so they better change things fast or it could really get ugly.

Actually, that's not true. Earlier this summer, Ryan Murphy made some comments about how those three were obviously seniors this year and that he wasn't going to play games with their ages and that they'd graduate after this season and be off the show. But by the end of the summer, he had backtracked on those statements and was acting like they'd never been said. I'm pretty sure FOX got to him and told him there's no way he was writing out the top stars from one of their biggest hits just because that's what would be realistic.

That was my favorite line of the episode.

I this episode, they made it pretty clear who was a senior and who was not. I am just hoping they don't do something really stupid with some of the seniors. Like make them fail a bunch of classes so they have to repeat the year. That would be really dumb, ESPECIALLY for a character like Rachael.

So, maybe is "backtracking" on people leaving the show or being written off, but he sure better do it in an intelligent way.

Yes, they definitely made it clear who is a senior and should be graduating this year. But it remains to be seen whether this season ends at the end of this school year. Or if the graduated characters will figure out a reason to stay in Lima. Or if the show will follow the graduated characters into the next phase of their lives. Or any number of other ways they could keep those people on the show without something silly like having them fail a class and have to repeat their senior year.

He was never a series regular...but Darren Criss got a bump and he didn't and he took his ball and went home.
