Mike Chang sings!

Awesome. :)

It was nice seeing him and Brittny getting some show time.
Definately the best episode of the season so far.

I loved seeing Mike Chang sing (and get a significant amount of screen time.)

However, do we really need the Mercedes/Rachel battle for the third season in a row?

No wonder Emma is screwed up, if you had Ralph Malph for a dad, you would be to.:D

I am glad to see the songs are taking are, for the most part, moving the plot along instead of being just another vehicle to see more iTunes. This goes back to what was special about S1.
Anyone else think Mercedes might be pregnant? Or is that too obvious?

Loved the Dreamgirls number...the costumes, hairstyles...everything! :up::up:

Loved Artie's line about Mike never being late...He's like a fine Swiss watch being cheaply reproduced in China...:D:p

That whole montage with Mike dancing, being stopped by his father....amazing!
Brittany in a latex miniskirt.

Hot. :)

That's who that was. I kept thinking I should know him but mother (who I think regularly plays whackjobs) kept stealing my attention. I also kept thinking that Emma's hair used to be redder then it was during the dinner. Both her's and her father's looked to be really washed out.
Amazing episode - I'm loving season 3 much better then season 2. Loved the storyline with Mike and his parents - it was nice to see some development with him.

No Sue, though? Crazy!

I also discovered Ace of Cakes cancellation through this episode and had much the same reaction as Coach Beiste.
Ace of Cakes really is being canceled? My daughter was upset...

We've been rather disappointed with the song selections this year. I guess I want songs I'm familiar with and that I can sing along with. I was not familiar with any of the songs last night (I admit to not having a large musical base though).

Otherwise, I was happy with the episode. Though, I could do without the Mercedes/Rachel storyline.

And I too thought Mercedes might be pregnant.
The show is better when Sue is not in it.

Mercedes goes through the same thing every year. That's probably my biggest complaint about the writing. They make a character grow, then a few episodes later, they put them back where they were.
For some reason my TiVo didn't record this. It got some tcm channel movie. I look forward to seeing this episode in the repeats.

Tami - I live two blocks from the Ace of Cakes building, and hang out at the bar (dizzies) across the street. We always get people stopping to get their picture taken by the doorway. And Chef Duff has a new show, something about sweet things.

I've been waiting for them to do "Out Here On My Own" for a while, and was disappointed that the kept cutting back and forth between the two versions. I wonder how they'll make that available in iTunes?
Very good episode. It was "plot heavy", but the plot was cohesive and made sense.

LOVED Brit's dance number.. VERY hot. :)

I agree. One of my favorite movie songs of all time. I love it and was excited to hear either actress sing it but I was not thrilled with the cutting back and forth, but I do understand why they did it.

Good episode. Loved the Mike Chang plot and his song was one of my favorite of the show. The Will and Emma plot was also nice.

Overall a very good episode. Nice to see Mike and Brittany get solo numbers and give Blaine and Kurt a break.
No Sue, though? Crazy!
Sue had two "if you blink you might miss them" appearances in the gym when Britney was "declaring her candidacy".

At first she was enjoying the song, then clamped down and pretended to be outraged.
Duff from Ace of Cakes is now doing a show called Sugar High. It's a desert version of Dinners, drive ins and dives.
