I have base as Roamio with two other working vox minis. I want the new mini to run on the old interface that I much prefer. Can I make that happen? How? Any fear of losing all my saved shows in the process?

No issue with programs on the host. The Mini boxes will ask you to either rollback their software to TE3 or tell you to upgrade your host to TE4.

You may have to use the Mini remote in IR mode. But you probably know that.

I could not pair it. I was only able to use the remote in IR mode. There have been posts indicating it works, but I can't test it. Plus I have a TE4 host now.

Your new Mini will run the same interface as your base Roamio (and other Minis); all Minis must run the same UI version as their host DVR.

So if you're currently running TE3 on your base Roamio and Minis, your new Mini will be running TE3, as well; though it may first auto-upgrade to TE4 before you assign its host DVR ... at which point you'll be prompted for the UI downgrade back to TE3 on the new Mini.
