So is there any one selling (or making for that matter) new DirecTivos anymore?

I thought I wasn't too worried about it being a Tivo but these reviews I'm reading on the R15 worry me.

Is my only option to get a second one for my bedroom via ebay?

I fell like I should be stockpilling used tivos.

Some CC's in your area might still have an "R10". You might give them a call. But be sure to specifically ask for a "R10", and make sure it isn't an "R15", if you want a TiVo.

i just meant I feel like I should have a reserve of current DirecTivo on hand to replace any dead Tivo units that may crop up on my in the next few years (decades).

They do, but only about 40 SD-SVR80's still exist.
