Hey all. I found out that my Motorola box has the serial port enabled. I cannot find my original serial cables so I plan on ordering them from the TiVo store. The connector on the cable box is female, and I cannot tell from either the description or the picture on the TiVo site if their cable has a male end.

Does the 10' serial cable from the TiVo store have a female or male end ? If female, do standard gender changers (i.e. from RadioShack, etc.) work ?

The one that came with, and is sold at the TiVo store is male, to connect to cable and satellite boxes. You can get female ones to connect to a PC from 3rd party sellers such as NinthTee.
