I can't remember...did they do it last year?
I actually mentioned it (in passing) yesterday:I didn't do a search to see if this has already been discussed but will Tivo do their Game-skip feature on this sunday's SuperBowl LV?

Given that 2020 (and the first half(?) of 2021) was hopefully an anomaly in "normal"(*), we will not really know until the Big Game in 2022 whether this year was a one time aberration, or the beginning of the end of yet another TiVo consumer friendly feature functionality. Sadly, I am a bit pessimistic, given TiVo did not even offer an explanation/excuse for no GameSkip this year, but who really knows what TiVo will be, or prioritize, a year from now.Given that TiVo didn't promote it as they have for past Super Bowls, it looks as if they didn't do GameSkip this year.
While typically true, for the Big Game, for many, the advertisements *are* the content (and the game is just useless fluff that is between the real entertainment).I would think this option has limited appeal on a DVR, since may people buy a DVR to skip commercials.
Except the Super Bowl is basically(*) the only time I PURPOSELY watch commercials. I use Tivo (and when possible, streaming services that even rid me of having to hit channel up or 30 second skip to avoid commercials) to AVOID commercials. This was a good 'gimmick' to use an existing functionality in a clever way for those of us who DON'T watch the boring 'game' filling up time.I would think this option has limited appeal on a DVR, since may people buy a DVR to skip commercials.
