Anyone know if there is any chance D* will get Fox Sports Net in HD in the line up? I know cablevision has it and its frustrating! I want my Devil's hockey in HD.

Could it come or am I dreaming?

thanks all!

I would not be surprised, and I've mentioned this before, if for this baseball season as well as next year's Hockey season, they offer a superfan type package where a select group of games will be in HD.

Time will tell, but that would be a good way to differentiate themselves from cable as well as getting more money for the package.

Where I live Comcast owns the local fox sports channel(weird). We on D* will never see FSN in HD. D* is dropping the ball big time IMHO, by only adding the big 4 in HD. My brother in law has comcast and gets all the locals in HD.

Considering there were a bunch of HD games in the MLB package last year (and they were FOX Broadcasts), I'm guessing that perhaps it will be part of a "Superfan" package. We'll basically be indirectly paying Comcast and Cablevision for our local HD sports.

I brought Cablevision into my apartment strictly for the HD Hockey. The box is horrific and no where near Tivo. Also, they only show home games in HD --- and with all the local hockey here in NY, there were times that home games for the Islanders were bumped from the HD broadcast. It left me asking myself, why in the hell do I even bother with Cablevision.

I'm moving next week to a new home and will be leaving Cablevision behind in it's entirety. Voice- Verizon Internet - Verizon Fios TV - Direct TV

Here's hoping for a SuperFan package for the MLB. I'll ***** about the price increase and then 2 seconds later I'll sign up.

I've gotta go along with you. It seems like a boneheaded strategy to me. Since the only things needed to add the other local HD's in each market are more receivers, I'm not sure what they think they are gaining by holding off on the rest. Maybe they want to roll out ASAP everywhere, but there is no technical way skipping a couple of channels in each market could speed that process up enough to matter. Ka bandwidth is wide open, and fiber backhauls aren't squeezed either.

Plus, they run the risk of the continued perception being no WB, UPN, or PBS, even after they add it later on. People will think "they don't have it" because they launched without it, even though they do (or will by then). Maybe they just can't get the equipment they want from their vendors, or enough of it. Ironically, were that the case, they would be experiencing some of the things we as customers experience.
