Does anyone know why my Tivo Model TCD 130040 would freeze on the "Welcome! Powering up..." screen?

Before that, I turned it on and the Live TV image was frozen, so I unplugged the unit and then plugged it back in. Since then, the Welcome screen is all I see.

I've tried replacing the hard drive, but that didn't work either.

Am I doomed to replace the entire unit? I'd rather not, I bought the lifetime subscription for that box.

Usually this is a sign of a dead hard drive. How did you replace the hard drive? Are you sure you did it right?

If you're sure you properly replaced the drive, then it's most likely a power supply or motherboard problem. You can buy replacement power supplies at http://www.weaknees.com, but replacing the motherboard isn't really an option since you'll lose your lifetime subscription (which is tied to the motherboard).
