So when Peter awoke after being attached to the machine, was he in the future where the two worlds collided? (Sept. 11 plaque AND the Fringe Unit gives this away to me at least)

I thought he had turned into Hiro and Fringe and Hero's had merged.

I didn't take it that way - I figured that whatever Peter did with the machine caused a event in "this" universe that resulted in the establishment of a Fringe division over here.

I liked Sam's rock bowling.

I didn't know what to think of that final scene.

My take on it was that he went into the future in our universe. The plaque said dedicated to the 9/11 victims, and the dedication was 9/11/2021. They did not have a 9/11 in the other universe.

As the previous poster said, he did a Hiro.

Or I could be all wrong.

LOL, now the you mention that it does make me go back to what Heroes did.

I'm not sure what to make of the final scene either. The machine was said to either create or destroy universes. I see 3 possibilities: he's in some sort of dream state, he's in the future, or he's in the new green universe?

At first, I thought Peter ended up in a THIRD universe, because the Fringe agent called him Agent Bishop. But upon viewing the previews...

I hope they are not setting up next season for a bunch of time hopping episodes.

Their 9/11 didn't destroy the Twin Towers, but we know there was an event, and that the White House was rebuilt e.g..

The plaque mentioned the 20th anniversary of 9/11 in 2021 BTW.

My take is that one universe (ours) was gone, and Peter, having originatated from theirs, was somehow propelled back to it (and perhaps retconned into always having been there).

I think the machine merely forwarded Peter's consciousness into the future.

Or, his presence in the future is just a dream state, and he's not really in the future.

My guess is that he just went to the future in our universe.

It was odd that his hairdo changed. I didn't know time/universe traveling did that.

Aging ten years will do it, though...

(The make-up job was kinda half-assed, but I eventually realized he was wearing older-guy make-up.)

I thought I heard at the beginning the promo said something about learning something unexpected about someone. I am not sure what that was.

Another great episode. The Heros comment makes me nervous. I did not think of that until now. Please don't go Heros on us.

This is mostly why I think the machine moved his consciousness forward in time, not his body.
