I thought this episode could have used some editing. We spent a lot of time at the Ascension. We spent even more time wandering Terminus. The actual story was compressed into the last few minutes, and even then, we were left hanging too early.

I see the need to make us aware of all they did, both on Trantor and Terminus, but felt it could have been done more succinctly. Or make a slightly longer episode, and carry the story a bit further. A lot of watching for little story advancement.

Nonetheless, it's an interesting watch, keeps you hooked, never got bored.

I didn't realize until this episode that women in episode 1 that is unaffected by the vault was different than Gaal. I just thought that was her in the future.
That was Salvor Hardin. A character from the books, but the name seems to be all they have in common. {no spoilers}

I've read the books multiple times, and I'm really enjoying this series. What I like is that there are clearly some "easter egg" things from the books (or maybe more accurately things in the series so far that are definite foreshadowing if you have read the books), but there are enough new plot directions that I keep coming back to find out what's going to happen next.

Me too. Although I keep running into cognitive dissonance about it. I'm still not sold on the trinary depiction of the emperor. And I'm not really sure the show needs it.

3 episodes in, I am lost in the timeline. Are we ahead or behind when Gaal and Raych were exiled? I too thought Salvor or was Gaal, then I thought Salvor's mom was Gaal. Nope. Where is Gaal?

I think I latched too quickly onto Gaal and Seldon as likable and intriguing characters.

Gaal is, as far as we know, floating through space in some kind of suspended animation escape pod, that Raych was going to use after the murder. We don't know where it is, but it's HIGHLY unlikely to be Terminus. What sense would it make for the escape pod to be programmed to go to the planet where all the people who know you just murdered someone are going?

I'm a little interested to hear what happened to Raych. I assume he was executed for murder? Maybe we'll never find out.

I actually have a very strong suspicion I know where that pod is/was going, but I shall not reveal it here since it is directly from the books.
