How reliable are these people? I've never heard of them, and they seem to be rumor-mongers...but are they reliable rumor-mongers, or the type that just make &@T^%$ up?

I'd be surprised if a reboot without the complete original cast and Joss Whedon at the helm would even work. I believe most of the cast is available or at least not so deeply embroiled in other projects that they couldn't do a 13-episode season. It will be interesting to see how this unfolds. Gina Torres might have to retrain her potty mouth after her stint on Suits if they plan on making this a family show.

Making it a family-friendly show is not what fans want. At all. If that's what they're gonna do, at least create a spinoff without the same characters. Using the same characters but changing their umm....character....is way too jarring. It has a better chance of success if you just make something new in the same 'verse.

I saw this elsewhere last night and I repeat myself here:
I'm not sure how anyone could do it justice without Joss Whedon's involvement.
Concur. I'm willing to give it a chance, if it comes to pass, but much prefer Whedon to be involved or at least have the torch passed by him to someone that will show it proper care.

Yeah...I have my doubts (very strong doubts), but I'm willing to give it a chance. I know it won't be what it was, but what it will be could be cool.

Or not. We'll see (or we won't; I'm not sure how solid this story really is).

They may call it Firefly but without Whedon, sorry, it ain't gonna be Firefly. No way. I'll pass.
I likely concur, but willing to try. Don't forget, if you read the whole article, it seems to indicate something strange is going on with Joss....

Whedon has recently been embroiled in a strange controversy with some of his former actors and it's made him difficult to employ. Disney, not wanting to court the ire of outraged Twitter activists, may simply be unwilling to have him involved in their brand.
We shall see. If it's there and I am still subscribed to Disney, of course I will give it a try.
