Has anyone changed their fios TV and been able to select a plan without DVR service from Verizon since you have a TIVO

I CAN tell you, my current Fios TV plan comes with a DVR capable STB and I do not have any DVR service through Fios. So, you "should" be able to ask them to discontinue it remotely. Like you, I use my TiVo for DVR.

That being said, all bets are off when it comes to changing anything (Fios TV related) as far as keeping your CableCARD. So, if you make any changes, insist on keeping your CableCARD and look at the email they provide before you sign anything.

When you say “select” it makes it sound like you are trying to change your service online.

Your cablecard is no longer supported for new customers, it’s legacy equipment.

You should absolutely be speaking with customer service to ensure you do not lose cablecard support on your account.

Good luck changing your plan and maintaining your cable card functionality. I moved last year, they wouldn’t let me keep my current plan. All new plans have no cable card support. Do not trust customer service agents. They insisted I would be able to use my cable card at the new location. it turned out to be not true. I had to sell all my TiVo stuff at that house and am now in streaming hell. The good news is that Internet plus a separate live TV streaming service is way more expensive and less quality than Verizon with TiVo.
