You can certainly do wired ethernet adapter -> ethernet cable -> computer, but you'll need crossover cable, not patch cable. This is how my TiVo connects, not just for transfers but also to download program info - I have two network cards in the PC, one hooked up to the TiVo and one hooked up to the LAN that provides my internet connection.tivogangster said:I just got my Series 2 TIVO up and running on my wireless network. I am currently downloading a 30 minute show unto my laptop and the estimated download time is 45 minutes. This is in a 802.11g wireless network. Although I have the working wireless USB adapter, can I purchase the wired USB ethernet adapter and connect my laptop directly to the TIVO with a short CAT5 patch cable for a faster transfer? Or does the program have to be transferred across the wireless network?
Thank you in advance for any helpful input.
