Hi All... I watch a lot of football on my S3 Tivo. I just recently upgraded to Digital and went through all the "M-card" "S-Card" woes. I have the 9.1 firmware release. I have an M card in slot 1 and an S card in slot 2. Everything seems to work ok except for one really annoying quirk ... Most of the time when I use the fast forward button, the sound stops and the video plays at normal speed. But when I hit the "play" button again, the picture returns to the point as if it had run in fast forward. So it kinda works but it makes it impossible to tell when I actually need to stop and return to normal speed. I have powered off and restarted.

Any ideas on how to fix this? Or if I just have to wait for the next updated?

I'm not quite sure what you are trying to say.

FFW and REW 2x and 3x speed are supposed to jump back. The Tivo does that so you can FFW past the commercials (or to a specific scene) you want without overshooting. If it weren't for that jump bakc, you'd overshoot and miss the start of the program or scene and you would have to manually rewind.

before I got my cablecards, pressing fast forward would starting playing video at something like 2x normal speed. You could skip through boring parts of CSI (like the science scenes where it's just bad music) and then hit play when Calleigh started talking again.

Now, when I hit FF, the sound is muted and the video plays at the same (normal speed) ... but when I hit play, sound resumes and video playback starts at where I would have skipped to. For example, if I hit FF and let it run for 5 seconds, I see 5 seconds of normal video but no sound. When I hit play, the program starts 10 seconds ahead of where i started FF and sound resumes. So i get the effect I want, I just can't tell when I should actually stop.

Using Motorola cards, 1 M-card, 1 S-card.
Still at 9.1 -- hoping, wondering if 9.2 will fix this. It's especially annoying for watching football (which I do every sunday, as much as possible).

It happens all the time for all programs and is very annoying.

From what you say, it sounds like there is clearly a bug with FF 1x.

I'll have to check that. I rarely use FF 1x so it's not something I would notice in daily use.
