I’ve watched all three seasons of Fargo and anticipated that this season would not disappoint. The first 2 episodes were exactly as I’d hoped from an enjoyment perspective. It surprised me though.

The 16 year old narrator — love her and those goofy bangs.

The Nurse — so creepy and I so hope that ring will be her downfall. That pie with “extra ingredients “ is one of the reasons I hate potluck events.

The Mortuary Couple - I don’t understand anything going on there.

I love Chris Rock but hate that hair. I know, it is what they did back them. He is mesmerizing though.

i agree with all of your points. while the first 25 minutes of history seemed to drag out a little for me, the show picked up nicely, with many tangents waiting to collide.

the nurse is too much, i love her! jessie's an accomplished actress, and she has the midwestern accent down to a science - i'm looking forward to her story arc with fadda family.

the girl narrating, emyri crutchfield, is from nola, and i'm truly impressed - she's phenomenal - no clue as to where her story is going to resolve in this mess. i get her parents, the funeral home, and the loan, but the aunt and her accomplice breaking out of prison, then showing up, is a mystery - i have faith in the writers.

along with jessie & emyri, chris rock, jason schwrtzman, and ben whishaw all delivered - i also love anji white and andrew bird - the cast is incredible.

I loved the first two seasons, liked season 3, but after 2 episodes, not sure about this one yet. It feels too much like a typical mob movie. I'm guessing by the end I'll like it, once things tie more together. I loved Chris Rock's character and his assistant (Doctor Senator!!) going to the bank and pitching credit cards! That was the best scene so far (I hear they are doing great things with plastics!). Is the Italian mob family the same family that was in season 3? I haven't seen it in awhile but I remember that they were coming from Kansas City. I wonder if the nurse has some connection to the family that was in Minnesota in season 3.

I think whatever shakes out from this season will be the precursor to the "Corporation" that employs Mike Milligan in Season 2.

What I'm not buying is the crazed maniacal overacting of the guy who plays Gaetano, but other than that the show has been great.
It's a bit ironic that this ticking time bomb who seems to have walked out of a Road Runner cartoon is in the same cast as the greatest ticking time bomb in television history (Timothy Olyphant)...

Right now there seems to be several unrelated story lines taking place, but I'm sure they'll all be linked together at some point. There wouldn't be any reason to follow them otherwise. The nurse seems to be the one character that has crossed boundaries with the family in the mortuary and the Italian gang. Then there's the black gang and the escaped cons and the U.S. Marshal. At some point I feel that the ****e is going to hit the fan.

Timothy Olyphant as a U.S. Marshall? I don't know if I can buy that.
I thought that was him but wasn't sure. I didn't want to risk spoiling things by looking it up and forgot by the time I finished. I don't have a problem with it. Obviously his character is a bit weird, and that kind of fits. I can see Olyphant in that part. He's pretty much good in most everything I've seen him in.

Well the nurse is already linking the funeral home folks with the gangsters, just by being involved with both. We don't know how or why, but the link is there. It's now a matter of seeing how this all plays out. I thought this past episode was the best so far, and things are getting interesting.

Olyphant being the Marshall is one thing but the fact that he is wearing the iconic hat is is amazing!

The funeral home people are also linked to the gangsters that loaned them money.

The last name of the head of the Irish mob was Milligan. Maybe Mike is an offspring of Rabbi? and possibly the daughter of the mortuary couple?
Wow, nice catch. I totally missed that in the pilot. Which is a little embarrassing, since they named the families right up there on the screen.

I like your theory. Fargo 2 was set in 1979, so Mike would need to be in his 20s if Rabbi Milligan and Ethelrida are his parents. Early 20s not to be ewww.
Satchel Cannon is also a possibility.

Timothy Olyphant's Seth Meyers interview goes joyously off the rails

"To explain how showbiz works for the folks at home, Olyphant said, "What we do generally is we get the job and before that job airs we tell everybody the show's amazing. 'It's the best work I've ever done.' And then we go get another job and we get that job based on the job you just did and you're saying it's the best work you've ever done. And then when that job comes out and it sucks, it's fine because you already got another job and that job's amazing, it's the best work you've ever done."

"So, how about Fargo? Meyers noted that Olyphant will often tell the late-night host when he's worked on something awful. "Here's the good," Olyphant said. "This show? It's amazing. It's the best work I've ever done."

Yeah, that whole thing was a setup for that last line of course :) But that's true. How many times have we seen actors plug terrible movies in that manner. I'm sure they are paid to promote the movie and say nice things.
