Won't work unless you have one of the discontinued Tivo Expander drives, long gone.

does that mean the only way to get more space is to replace the internal drive ?
Well you can add just about any external eSata drive to a Bolt with MFSTools 3.32. You will have to have the internal and eSata drive hooked to the computer at the same time.

With the issues of the TE4 interface on larger hard drives in the Bolts, it is likely the best way to add recording space to your Bolt.

If you add the external drive you will not lose your existing recordings. However if the external drive goes bad, you may lose any recordings made after the drive was added.
