Expand my wireless net range

Has anyone used the gain antennas to extend the range of their wireless net?

I am considering buying an gain antenna to do this. Do these antennas work as described?

Does anyone know if you can use a gain antenna with an access point or repeater to cover more territory?

Thanks

I am using high gain antennas on my Linksys WRT54G. It definitely improved the connection reliability for my computer that is farthest away from the unit. It basically improved my signal quality from about 50% to about 80%. It was worth it in my situation.

I am also considering using the Linksys Wireless Access Point which can be used as a repeater.

Do you know if I can use the WAP with routers other than Linksys. I read somewhere, having a senior moment, that the WAP only worked with Linksys routers. I hope not!
Yes you can extend the range of your wireless router with a better antenna. I have purchased several from:

Also a good forum to ask questions in is:
