Everwood - why no episodes until March?

The explanation given by the WB suits is that the show does very poorly in repeats, so they decided to run Beauty and the Geek 2 nonstop through February, and then resume Everwood in March with nothing but new episodes through May.

I'm starting to think TV series would be better served this way -- Two shows share the same timeslot during the year. Run 22 episodes of Prison Break in fall and winter, then 22 episodes of "24" in spring and summer.

It should make you laugh. But don't forget, the first two episodes were two hours long.

They did the same thing last season too. I hate it as it is one of the better shows that I like. At least the "cliffhanger" this season is not as suspenseful as last season.
