I didn't think this episode was very good. Seemed to me like the only point of the episode was to put Carter into danger so that the ex could see how much the town loved Carter and Zoe.

While I agree it wasn't their best, the "techie" side of plot was clear since it's been done a million times. However it got a lot done the "character" side, it really helped cement and expand a lot of relationships.

I think it did well on the character side, and we needed to get some of that housekeeping done, but I miss the techie side.. that's one of Eureka's more endearing quirks.

The plot was transparent, but if it got rid of the ex and allows Zoe to stay then I'm OK with it.

I thought it seemed strange that his ex-wife told him that she loved him and gave him a big hug. I don't know of any divorced couples who do that sort of thing.

I wonder what Beverly is going to think when she walks into her house and finds the hidden panel is no longer hidden. And how did he get into her house, anyway? Is Carter going to have to arrest him for breaking/entering? Or is it a condition of working for Global Dynamics (since the homes ARE theirs) to allow GD employees to enter at will as needed? If GD employees could enter the premises unescorted and without approval, it seems silly that Beverly would keep anything in that home that she wouldn't want seen.

Oh, and Henry was rather stilted with Carter during their conversation at the end. Carter saying something about it feeling weird having memories of something that actually hadn't happened. Henry still has that. I wonder if Carter's actions are going to cause Henry to feel guilty once he starts letting go of Kim.

Well, there's also the fact that Henry is planning to wreak biblical vengeance on Carter for not saving Kim, and he might be starting to feel a little more conflicted over that...

I think it was just an indication that he's become more like the man she married. She probably never stopped loving him.

Does Beverly work for GD? I don't think she has office space at the campus. I thought that she was a govt. contractor (almost spelled it contactor!

It's always bugged me that in such a high-tech town, the sheriff drives such an outdated car. Then, in this episode, we see that Lupo drives something newer. You can't really tell what it is, but you see a little bit of the edge of it when she's waiting for him at the "noise disturbance" call at the beginning. It's clearly something more rounded and newer than Carters. Why does she have a newer car and he drives that POS? Maybe he should point that out next time she asks for a promotion.

Yeah, law enforcement tends to have a thing for old-style, tricked-out cars. And apparently, they are VERY expensive (being very small-run productions).

That's an interesting interpretation. I didn't exactly get that from what Henry did. I almost think he erased the memories from Carter more as a kindness to alleviate his pain with losing his future wife and unborn child to a "world that never happened".

Of course Henry is angry with Carter for taking Kim from him but Henry also knows that Carter did it to save the world. There was no option to save Kim and the world. Henry is a smart guy, he is not going to take vengeance on Carter for doing the right thing just because it hurt Henry.

The reason Henry didn't erase his own memories was that they were too precious to him. If he removes them then most of his relationship with Kim doesn't exist. As Kirk said (or I'm paraphrasing) "Don't take away my pain. I need my pain. It makes me who I am".

I think we are going to find out that Beverly did something that ultimately led to the death of Kim and Henry is going to do something in the "biblical" vein to her.

Anyway, discuss.

Henry made it pretty clear (to the audience at least) that he would never forgive Carter for preventing him from saving Kim. His loathing was pretty apparent.

It goes all the way back to the first season, Jo has always had the newer Jeep, Carter drives the same older model his predecessor had.

I've always wondered why he didn't "pull rank" for the newer one, but then there is the possibility he just doesn't care

Why did I keep seeing Beverly Crusher walking around while people disappeared around her? I DON'T necessarily think ST:TNG did it better. This episode worked exactly the way it was supposed to work. It showed everyone how much Carter and Zoe really love each other. It showed the Ex how much that are loved by the community, and it get the ex out of the way in an acceptable manner.

I loved the machine at the beginning--the oil pan too!

I think the actor portrayed Henry still having some disgust at Carter, while faltering a bit with empathy and guilt when Carter thanked him as well as checked up on him. I was a bit amazed at his acting skills on that one.

Through the episode I kept thinking the same thing. I was expecting a wormhole/vortex that Carter would walk through and every thing would be back to normal.

It was very good. He got across a great deal of emotion in a couple of facial ticks and a little body stutter.

That was the first thing I thought of when I saw the preview. The conversation was even similar how many offices does GD have vs is it logical for one person to run a ship by themselves.

Interestingly the DVR description said it was PG-14 so we didn't let the kids watch it with us. Then at comercial it was only PG.

I agree, and it's starting to grate on me. I'm not entirely sure why, but that whole subplot just irritates me.
