*End clipped, overlapped another program

I was going through my Now Playing list on my Tivo and I went to play a recorded show. On the program screen the duration has 1:00* and at the bottom says *End Clipped, overlapped another program. I know in 2008 they are supposed to be adding overlap protection so I was surprised to already see this message. Has anyone else come across the same message? I don't show the option to change the setting on overlap so maybe it was just another bug.

I've noticed this as well, and it is quite annoying. I recall the unit used to skip the recording at the time of the conflict, and just record the program when it was re-run later.

Is there any way to configure the system to go back to the old way?

As it is, I have go through the todo list from time to time and manually cancel recording which overlap.

Thanks,

Hey Jim,

I happen to know Mark personally, and it was a joke (note the smiley face). So, mind your own business...

When you set the Program to record did you see any messages that the Program would be clipped?

It's not a bug, you can turn it on or off.

When you post on a public forum, you are making it everyones business.

Actually, I was referring to programs being recorded via wishlists and the like. When I look at the TODO list, it does show that the program will be clipped, but I needed to keep an eye on it and catch these as they turned up.

Changing the recording option so that it doesn't clip seems to have resolved this problem for me.

Thanks,
